Office of Management and Budget
The Office of Management & Budget is responsible for instituting and operating a governmental budgeting system that provides financial information to both external users and internal management. This information is used to monitor the expenditure of public funds and to ensure that the financial transactions of the City are conducted in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements and City policy.
The responsibility for budgeting includes managing the budgeting process under the direction of the City Manager and the City Council, preparing the Official Budget Document, and monitoring actual results for compliance with budget limitations. The Official Budget Document is also submitted each year to GFOA under its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The City has received this award for over 20 years, during the most recent of which it was awarded outstanding designation in 2 out of 4 categories. The department’s commitment is to provide professional and quality services to the City.
