The Parks Division of the McAllen Parks and Recreation Department maintains park related sites located throughout the city. These sites cater to popular pastimes such as bicycling and enjoying the beauty of the Rio Grande Valley.
2nd Street Hike & Bike Trail
A 2 1/3 Mile paved exercise trail that travels north on Second Street between Business 83 and Nolana Avenue.
Bicentennial Boulevard Esplanade
This esplanade follows Bicentennial Boulevard from Business 83 to Expressway 83. Along the sidewalk path, you can find a number of park benches for relaxing.

McAllen Dog Park (formerly the McAllen BMX Park)
400 Tamarack - 4 acres
A four acre park where dogs are allowed off-leash. Separate space is dedicated for both large and small dogs.
McAllen Nature Center
4104 W. Business Highway 83 - 15 acres
Fifteen acres of beauty displaying a vast array of plant families indigenous as well as adaptive to the Valley area.
South 10th Street
Located in the floodway between the levees on South 10th Street, this park is great for the motorcycle enthusiast.
A local historic home the plays host to a number of special events. In the future, the site will be the home of McAllen's branch of the World Birding Center
