The McAllen Fire Department is turning 100, this year! To mark the occasion, McAllen FD plans to host several community events for the public to attend, from June 7 to June 10, 2013.
Here's a rundown of some of the scheduled events:
Open House
Friday June 7th, 2013
McAllen residents can drop by and visit their neighborhood fire station, between 4 and 8 pm.
Central Fire Station 201 N 21st
Station 2 2811 N. Main (Harvey and Main)
Station 3 213 E. Dallas (Cynthia and Dallas)
Station 5 5521 N 23rd (Dove and 23rd)
Station 6 5500 S. 23rd (Sara and 23rd)
Parade/Community Day at West Side Park
Saturday June 8th, 2013
10AM Westside Park Parade featuring fire trucks from McAllen, as well as other cities.
11AM-7PM
- Firefighter Challenge open to any fire personnel, and the public.
- Fire Safety House
- Games For the Children/Adults (fire based)
- 2 separate Jaws of Life demonstrations
- Forcible entry demonstrations
- Fire truck display
- Air evac landing-show and tell
- BBQ prepared by local fire departments
