Femme Fury: Misogyny and Bi-Phobia in the LGBTQIA Community

Femme Fury hopes to create a dialogue about the unique experiences bisexual and/or femme present-ing individuals have within the queer community, and the theories and views that shape them. We hope to dive into the obstacles that femme erasure, biphobia and misogyny create in organizing and building solidarity within the LGBTQ community. Registration required.
Queer RGV Poetics: A Workshop & Open Mic

Dr. Merla-Watson from UTRGV will conduct a workshop exploring the intersecting issues of gender, sexuality, race, and identity in the work of local queer Chicanx poets, including (but not limited to) Gloria Anzaldúa, César de León , and José Antonio Rodríguez. Focusing on themes of trauma and healing, this workshop will be facilited as a socratic discussion in which everyone is encouraged to participate. After the workshop, join us for an Open Mic session with César de León to share your works of poetry. Registration required.
