Construction of storm system improvements
As the City of McAllen moves forward with the Idela Avenue Drainage Improvements project, storm infrastructure construction will cause a road closure along Idela Avenue.
The roadway will be closed to all through traffic between 33rd Street and 29th Street for and begin on Tuesday, February 22, 2024, and expected to be completed by Thursday, May 16, 2024.
Motorists are urged to find alternate routes during the road closure and exercise extreme caution and patience when traveling along in the area. Motorists should expect some delays and congestion.
