It’s time to get healthy at the third annual Family Health Fair hosted by McAllen Public Library on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Main Library on 23rd St. and Nolana Ave. This family-friendly event provides an opportunity to learn, participate, and take proactive measures toward improved health in an engaging setting.
Healthcare providers will be on hand to provide free health screenings, such as blood pressure checks, BMI assessments, tests for hemoglobin and glucose, liver scans, hearing, and vision. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with community partners in addition to participating in a variety of wellness-promoting activities, such as dance fitness classes for kids and teens and an everyday wellness class for adults. There will be giveaways, healthy snacks, and exciting raffle items available all day long.
"Residents can connect with local health and wellness providers and receive free health screenings at the Main Library's Third Annual Family Health Fair," says Claudia Villarreal-Quiroz, Reference Supervisor. “The goal of the McAllen Public Library is to increase family members' understanding of the value of health and wellbeing by collaborating with local health organizations.”
The Family Health Fair is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at (956) 681-3060 or visit the website at www.mcallenlibrary.net/events/healthfair.Top of Form
