In 2024, the winter solstice occurs on Saturday, December 21, 2024, and is celebrated around the world. Bring the family to Quinta Mazatlán, located at 600 Sunset Drive in McAllen, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to learn solstice facts, fun and folklore!

The solstice marks the official first day of winter in the northern hemisphere and is the one day a year when this part of the world receives the least amount of sunlight.  The WINTER SOLSTICE Nature Festival at Quinta Mazatlán is designed for families and friends to gather and have fun in nature. 

Enjoy arts and crafts by creating own bird seed ornaments and other fun, hands-on holiday crafting.  Take a scenic walk through the Luminary Woods Walk, lit up by hundreds of candles. Enjoy a variety of flavors from amazing food vendors, including Zen Garden, The Elote Club, Candyland STX, and Doce Wine, offering various delicious treats. Experience the smooth, soulful jazz tunes by Velvet Jazz to set the perfect mood for the evening.
