Peter and Tena (Petersen) Bentsen came from Denmark in the late 1800’s to take part in the great American dream of freedom and independence. They homesteaded on the South Dakota Prairie, establishing their homes in White, South Dakota. In 1918, they came to Mission, Texas and were pioneers in the citrus industry.

Through the following years, members of their family have served honorably in the military of the United States to protect and defend the freedom of this great country.
