The McAllen Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Task Force in collaboration with Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance will be hosting the “Living with Diabetes” Seminar at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce Conference Room on April 15 from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
The seminar will provide with valuable information about this serious disease impacting many families in the Rio Grande Valley as well as the opportunity to ask the speakers more specific questions based on their needs.
A panel of renowned doctors from a broad range of specialties will speak about Diabetes, among them are Dr. Enrique Griego, Family Doctor, Dr. Wady Aude, Cardiology, Dr. Keith Ramos, Nephrology and Amanda Longoria, Nutritionist from Joslin among others.
Diabetes can lead to blindness, kidney failure, and nerve damage. Diabetes affects 9.3% of the Texas population and the percentage increases to 11% in the the Rio Grande Valley.
This seminar is oriented for people affected by this disease directly or indirectly such as family or friends. The treatment of diabetes can only be done when is joined with education of the people impacted by it.
