by South Texas College | Apr 30, 2014

South Texas College Theatre will conclude the spring 2014 season with its production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to commemorate the bard’s anniversary. The production will run from May 1-3 at 8 p.m., including a Sunday, May 4 matinee at 2 p.m., at STC's Cooper Center for the Communication Arts Black Box Theater, located at 3201 W. Pecan Blvd. in McAllen.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream tells the tale of a quartet of mismatched lovers and a gaggle of hapless actors that cross paths with the king and queen of the fairies, entangled in their own domestic dispute. A wondrous forest brimming with possibilities sets the scene for Shakespeare's spectacular tale, exploring the inexplicable magic of falling in love and the wonder of waking up from the sweetest of dreams.

General admission tickets cost $5. The May 4 production will be interpreted in American Sign Language by interns from STC's Interpreting Training Program.

Tickets can be purchased one hour before the performance at the box office or in advance online at https://secure.touchnet.com/C20193_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=13.
