McALLEN – The City of McAllen, McAllen International Bridge Systems and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce the launch of the Discover McAllen mobile app!
The Discover McAllen App is designed to engage international guests, primarily from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, Ciudad Victoria and other prominent Mexican cities, and to promote McAllen as the RGV’s premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destination.
Once the app is downloaded, end users will be sent push notifications announcing special offers, fun activities, and other exciting news happening in McAllen. The app, available for Android and Apple smart phones, will be primarily in Spanish and users will have access to exclusive specials and coupons in the city.
McAllen is the region’s retail and restaurant leader currently collecting about $6 million in retail sales taxes per month. The city has one of the busiest shopping centers in Texas in La Plaza Mall, and McAllen is continually ranked as one of the higher per-capita for retail sales in the state.
