McALLEN – The City of McAllen will host a news conference Friday, December 4 at 10 a.m. at McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium to announce the Christmas Card contest winners and provide a media walk-through of parade preparations.
Media will have an opportunity to see the stage where Enrique Iglesias will perform and will get a tour of the area where they may set up Saturday.
A contest was held in November where participants were encouraged to create a giant Christmas card using sheet of plywood.
The giant Christmas cards will be displayed at Sprint Christmas in the Park so that attendees may take pictures with their families and share on social media using the hash tags #MHP2015 and #NavidadEnMcAllen.
Sprint Christmas in the Park combines the Tamale Fest presented by H-E-B and Candlelight Posada. The fun kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. and goes until 11 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
