McAllen, TX—More than $25 million is coming to the 15th Congressional District following the passage of the 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act late last week. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 ensures funding for critical government functions and programs, supporting various sectors and agencies in fiscal year 2024. Part of the total funding was the $7.4 million allocated for terminal improvements at the McAllen International Airport.

“Thank you to Congresswoman De la Cruz for her assistance in securing the federal funds through the 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act and continued support of McAllen International Airport. We appreciate the investment in vital infrastructure projects like our airport," said McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos.

“Welcoming in 3 new airlines and 4 new routes this year, including adding capacity to existing routes, the funding absolutely makes a significant impact to upcoming terminal plans as we continue to serve McAllen and our region," said McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E.

"McAllen International Airport is committed to continuously improving the infrastructure that serves our travelers. We will continue to work diligently to utilize the grant funds to improve our facilities and accommodate the growth," said Director of Aviation Jeremy Santoscoy, P.E.
