New check-in process should avoid confusion, speed up wait time
The City of McAllen Passport Division Facility has initiated a new registration procedure for anyone who walks-in for a passport application.
Registrants will walk to the computer kiosk and select the green button for passport sign-in. They will then enter their family name or individual name. Once complete, they will select submit and then wait to be called.
“We hope this new check-in procedure will avoid any confusion for anyone who walks in to apply for a passport,” said Yasminda Garza, Passport Facility Administrator.
Appointments are not required, and walk-ins are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis, McAllen passport officials strongly encourage appointments to avoid long wait times. To schedule an appointment, please call (956) 681-1450.
Parking is available at the McAllen Downtown Parking Garage. Parking rates are $1 for the first hour and $.50 for every hour after.
