McAllen, TX – The McAllen Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the City of McAllen and Visit McAllen, launched the McAllen Foodie Tour—a month-long celebration of the city’s vibrant culinary scene. The tour kicked off with a press conference on Friday, March 7, bringing together restaurant owners, city officials and food lovers to highlight the importance of McAllen’s restaurants.
Recognized by travel magazines and critics for its equally diverse and delicious cuisine, the City of McAllen is showcasing everything from homegrown favorites to renowned restaurant groups, giving the community and visitors a taste of the best the city has to offer.
Throughout March, McAllen residents and visitors will explore new restaurants, uncover secret menu items and participate in exciting social media challenges. By following Visit McAllen’s social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook, food lovers can discover new featured restaurants and earn chances to win prizes, including thousands of dollars in gift cards, hotel stays and discounts.

We invite everyone to participate and spread the word about the amazing places McAllen offers.”
The Foodie Tour is just one of the McAllen Chamber’s business tours intended to support local businesses. During December of 2024, they launched the McAllen Holiday Shopping Tour which celebrated McAllen’s Chamber affiliate shops and boutiques. With this new seasonal initiative, the Chamber continues its mission to promote local, drive economic growth and make McAllen a state hub for unique dining and hospitality.
“Our mission at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce is always to support our city’s local businesses and that includes our incredible restaurants,” said McAllen Chamber of Commerce CEO, Elizabeth Suarez. “For our local Restauranteurs, we are always doing our best to connect them with our community planners, hotels, visitors, and locals to get as many people through their doors as we can. That is what we love about the McAllen Foodie Tour, it brings our top restaurants to everyone.”
The McAllen Chamber of Commerce invites all McAllen residents, the Rio Grande Valley community and visitors to join in the excitement of the McAllen Foodie Tour.
