Keep McAllen Beautiful partnered with McAllen Parks & Recreation Department, local paper company International Paper and the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 70 native trees at McAllen Municipal Park. The 70 trees planted by International Paper employees and their families will add a native urban forest for residents and visitors, as well as provide additional habitat for migratory birds. An additional 25 native trees will also be planted at McAllen’s Palmview Park. It’s being called a mini forest but, it will bring shade and a natural habitat for birds.
