McAllen played host to the 2022 International Festivals and Events Association. The worldwide organization, whose membership exists to bring exciting, jaw-dropping, fantastical events, was treated to local cuisine, international music, and innovative spectacles. At the end of the conference, the City was recognized as one of the recipients of the prestigious award – IFEA World Festival and Event City Award
