The City of McAllen Information Technology and Parks and Recreation departments are updating the 911 call boxes along the 2nd Street and Bicentennial Hike and Bike Trails. The boxes, powered by solar panels and batteries, aim to keep the McAllen community safe and secure and offer access to 911 services on the trail.
