The schedule to request inspections is as follows:

A.M. (morning) Inspections need to be requested between 12:00 p.m. the previous day and 6:59 a.m. the same morning.

P.M. (afternoon) Inspections need to be requested between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. the same day.

Re-inspection fees must be paid before requesting a re-inspection. Each department which has failed an inspection will require a inspection fee of $48.00 to be paid.

How do I know what type of inspection I need?

Does someone have to be at the job site during the inspection?

Yes, someone needs to be onsite during the building inspection. The inspector will not access the residential or commercial property if no one in on site.

How much is a Reinspection Fee?

A Reinspection fee is $48.00 and is due prior to the next scheduled Inspection.

How will I be notified of my inspection results?

A failed inspection will receive a red tag and a passed inspection will receive a green tag. The building inspector will also impute the inspection results in to the City of McAllen permitting software, Accela Automation which will generate an email to the Applicant in real time.

Does the City of McAllen conduct after hour or weekend inspection?

Yes, after hours or weekend inspection may be coordinated with approval of the Building Official, contact the Building Permits and Inspections office at (956) 681-1300.
