McAllen International Airport celebrates 1 million total passengers.

McAllen International Airport (MFE) reached a historic milestone in 2024, surpassing 1 million passengers in a calendar year. This achievement was driven by the addition of four new nonstop destinations: Austin, Cancun, Mexico City, and Tampa-St. Petersburg, along with three new carriers. The 1 millionth traveler was celebrated with special gifts and festivities at the airport. “This milestone reflects McAllen's growth and its position as the Valley’s business and leisure gateway,” said Commissioner Joaquin “J.J.” Zamora.
