Texas Emergency
Mortgage Assistance Program

The City of McAllen was awarded funds from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to provide mortgage assistance to our community.  Our goal is to provide security to homeowners who have been impacted by COVID-19.  Through a State sponsored program, the Texas Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (TEMAP). McAllen homeowners may be eligible for up to six months in mortgage assistance, including five-months of arrears with at least one current month.  Mortgage assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis to qualifying households who have remitted completed applications.

A first lien mortgage made with federal, state, or local government funds (e.g. HOME, NSP, CDBG, CDBG-DR, HTF etc.) are not eligible to receive assistance.
